My name is Danielle Fertey but if you know me, you call me Dani. I was born and raised in Vacaville, CA and lived in the same house for 20 years. I currently live with my two oversized cats who are absolutely awesome. I have 2 older siblings, a brother and a sister, who are my best friends. I did print modeling in SF when I was about 10 but I was always too small to fit into any of the sizes required, but it was always my dream to get back in front of the lens.
I am way too artistic and see beauty in almost anything. I use to play the violin when I was younger but mostly focus on teaching myself the piano. I plan on learning the acoustic guitar next. I have such an old soul and always have. I love going to antique shops and thrift stores to see what unique vintage things I can find. I want my home to look like it came from an add in the 50s.
My First Tattoo:
My first tattoo is on my right side. It’s much bigger than your average persons first tattoo, they even joked about it in the shop how I would never get tattooed again, but I’ve always had eyes too big for my belly. It is a hummingbird flying into 3 roses that have a sparkling water drop falling from one of the petals in memory of my gramps, granny and close friend. It’s just nice to always have them by my side.
My Last Tattoo:
My most recent tattoo is on my right thigh. It’s a raven sitting on a branch with a shattered pocket watch hanging from its mouth. This past year I went through more hardships at once than ever before. I got it to remind myself how strong and independent I am and that even when everything seems broken, to keep holding on. It will definitely not be my last tattoo though. I have plans for basically my whole body.
My Favorite Tattoo:
My favorite tattoo is a paw print I got for my first dog, Jake. He was a weimaraner and was absolutely gorgeous. He was put down only a couple years back, and our veterinarian gave us his inked paw prints on paper. I took it down to my artist and had him copy the ink paw print onto me between my shoulder and neck, above my collar bone. It was mostly a pointillism type tattoo, which actually felt kind of good. I miss him everyday.
People That Inspire Me:
The people that inspire me most would have to be my parents. They have been married for 25 years and still genuinely love each other. It gives me hope that real love does last. My parents have been there and supported me through more than I would have ever imagined. They are two of the most hardworking and loving people in the world. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
