Age: 21
Profession: Full Time Model

Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Melbourne, raised as a child in Mackay. I moved to Brisbane with my family when I was 10, and now living on the gold coast.

Growing up were there any people that influenced your decision on getting a tattoo?
Not really. My dad has always had a lot of tattoos so that maybe influenced me as a child, but I am artistic at heart & really free spirited. I love everything about the real culture of tattoos and tattooing, I find people with tattoos intriguing.

What made you decide to take the plunge and get your first one?
I was 17 & holidaying in the Philippines when I got my first tattoo. I don’t remember what it was that made me want to get one, it just always appealed to me.

Do you have a favorite tattoo, and does it have a meaning behind it?
All of my tattoos have meaning behind them, I don’t have a favorite. I love all of my tattoos but if I had to choose, I would say the tattoos on my feet. They read “love everyday”. I was influenced in getting this tattoo by an international artist named Mike Mendes who owns an organization traveling the world helping the less fortunate. It’s a reminder to myself to be grateful for everything that I have in life.

How did you get into modeling?
I started modeling when I did my first promotional job at a car event. I entered a modelling competition (and didn’t win) but I was encouraged by a friend to get into it and that’s where it really started.

What or who are you’re inspirations?
My mum is my biggest inspiration. I always want to do her proud & be successful in everything that I do. Ava Gardner is also a big inspiration to me & with modeling, I really look up to Arabella Drummond and Ellis Cooper. They are effortless!

What projects are you currently working on?
Well I’ve just launched my website (www.leahmaree.com) and I’m in the process of adding the online store to sell my merchandise. I also have a few publication shoots coming up for tattoo & men’s magazines.
