Where were you born and raised?
Richmond, Virginia

Growing up were there any people that influenced your decision on getting a tattoo?
I really liked the aesthetic of tattoos, there was a bit of an underground scene in Virginia that seemed almost like an elite club to me. When I first started going out to 18+ bars and clubs, the few people I saw who had full sleeves or large portions of their bodies covered in tattoos seemed a little dangerous, and I remember I used to think, “I want to be like that one day!”  I got my first tattoo at 18 but I didn’t, however, really start getting heavily tattooed until I was a few years into my 20s.

What made you decide to get your first one?
I turned 18, I wanted a tattoo. It was really that simple. My first tattoo was just a compass rose in the middle of my pelvis, between my hipbones. When I got it I thought no one would ever see it, it was below the waistline of pretty much all of my jeans. I didn’t really think about the fact that the top of it would be so easily confused for a pot leaf though, so when I was working in bars in skimpy outfits I can’t tell you how many times I had gnarly hippies & stoners come up to me asking, “Hey maaaan is that like a POT leaf mannnn?!”

Do you have a favorite tattoo, and does it have a meaning behind it?
I’m pretty fond of my sleeve, but I really love them all.

How did you get into modeling?
Ah, yeah, there was this girl in high school who was really just awful to me because I was dating her ex. These days they would say she was bullying me, posted about me online all the time saying how she was better than me, as well as speaking ill of me to anyone who would listen. She really wanted to be on this one famous website, and kept applying but getting rejected. I was still 17 when I decided that I was going to apply for the same site to see if I got accepted, which I did. I remember also that she wrote a rap (SO LAME, RIGHT??!) about how she was going to be on the cover of magazines… my first magazine cover comes out this month. I honestly had forgotten all about it until recently when someone asked me how I got into modeling, so really, I guess I owe her a huge thanks. Otherwise I may not have ever pursued it!

What or who are your inspirations?
I find inspiration all over the place, mostly on the internet. The internet is a great source of inspiration, a database of ideas and concepts new and old. I find images that resonate with me, anywhere from high fashion ad campaigns to social media accounts of photographers, models, and designers I admire and everywhere in between.

What projects are you currently working on?
As I mentioned earlier I have my first magazine cover coming out this month, which I’m pretty excited about. I’ve just started doing burlesque, and have a few shows lined up here locally. But, one of my goals for 2014 is to expand my horizons, and begin performing outside of Vegas!
