Alyssa Anne is a rare beauty. The buxom beauty also has brains. The California babe is in graduate school working on her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering. She also teaches a lab course at Berkeley. If that didn’t blow your mind, wait ‘til you read about some of her quirky personality traits.
Alyssa, you’re a woman with ambition. What are some of your life goals?
I want to make a significant impact in the world through science. I would like to do research and development of biomedical materials. I could never be a doctor (I would pass out if I had to cut someone or if I had to see real blood). I would like to work behind the scenes to (hopefully) help a large number of people live better lives. I don’t want to be a leech on society. I want to leave it in a better state than I found it.
Sounds noble. What’s your typical day like and what exactly are you studying?
I’m in my last year of graduate school. I am studying fretting wear (wear due to vibrational issues) in turbine engines, you know, those the giant engines used for energy production. I am also teaching a lab course at UC Berkeley. 🙂 Gosh…no way to make you realize you aren’t as young as you think you are than seeing students that look like they are about 12 to you, but they are starting college! The last course I taught I referenced floppy disks, and not a single one of them had ever even seen one! LOL… “eeeeps! I just dated myself!”
Yea, floppy disks sound like solo old. (Don’t worry, I’m dating myself too!) What’s something you like to do for fun?
I am a spaz when it comes to “fun”… Rarely am I doing the same thing every weekend. I go to a lot of shows (and that is always a fun night), but I could be doing anything from riding roller coasters to setting off condom rockets in the park.
