Where were you born and raised?
Tauranga, New Zealand

Growing up were there any people that influenced your decision on getting a tattoo?
I come from a family who are pretty talented artists. They would always encourage me to follow my passion with art which has eventuated into me collecting permanent art on my skin.  A lot of influence for me came from watching LA Ink back in the day and being mesmerized by Kat Von D, who I still love today! I also was very influenced by Sabina Kelley and have followed her modeling work since a young age. I love the classic ‘neo-traditional / Sailor Jerry’ style of tattoos which is the style most of mine are based around.

What made you decide to get your first one?
I had wanted a tattoo for a very long time and it was more just about FINALLY getting one. I now do want to cover it as I was so young when I got it done and I have something more interesting and beautiful I want to cover it with. Also being on my back it is taking up prime canvas area! 😉

Do you have a favorite tattoo, and does it have a meaning behind it?
Yes, it would be my Mermaid tattoo in my sleeve. It is definitely one of my more beautiful pieces however it is pretty closely tied with my most recent thigh tattoo of a Wolf. The Mermaid tattoo doesn’t have too much in depth meaning behind it, it is more a ‘self-portrait’ of me as a mermaid. Something I wish I could be in real life.

How did you get into modeling?
Growing up I always used to read Inked Magazine and see all the gorgeous tattoo models online. I was bullied quite badly when I was younger, and it really motivated me to prove the bullies wrong and become the girl I’d always wanted to be.

What or who are you’re inspirations?
My family foremost but also many of the big named tattoo models who really paved the way for this industry. Such as Sabina Kelley, Cervana Fox and Elle Adura to name a few, also many other very talented models that I model alongside. I love being inspired by them and seeing others grow, it helps me want to improve my own work and really push myself. I am also inspired by many other influences such as old movies, books and fashion designers.

What projects are you currently working on?
I am always working on my next shoot! I closely work with my best friend’s label Forgotten Lockett and we have lots of fun and exciting projects in the works. I am also a spokesmodel for Ladies of Metal and am trying to get more involved in my work with them such as videos and promotional material for the website and Facebook page. I have a few publications in the works and maybe even some cosplay shoots coming up soon. Watch this space!
